Where is the most appropriate place to test our products? If you would like to be part of those decisions, then the Advanced Test Systems Engineering Center (ATSEC) is the place for you.

The Advanced Test Systems Engineering Center (ATSEC), within the Systems Test Directorate, is comprised of five departments and an engineering population of approximately 450+ employees, and produces over $300M+/year of delivered products. The ATSEC organization has the responsibility to grow and sustain the Systems Engineering competencies throughout all test activities, and to make test more affordable, credible, agile, and robust.

Within ATSEC, the Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) EO Systems Department has the responsibility to provide, develop, and maintain engineering development stations that operate real-time and closed-loop with the weapon’s hardware and software

Job Description:

Entry level engineering position for a college graduate in Electrical Engineering eager to commence contributing to the development of future Raytheon products. The successful candidate will have completed course work that includes an emphasis in digital electronics, microprocessors, electronic circuits, analog electronics, communications, FPGA programming, power systems, or some combination thereof.

Common tasks may include the following activities :

-Design and development of circuit card assemblies (CCA) with an emphasis on the design of printed wiring boards (PWB) containing FPGA circuits and digital interfaces.Any experience or internship work performed in any of these areas is highly desired.

-Integration of custom or Commercial Off The Shelf circuit card assemblies to interface real-time interfaces with weapon subsystems in a way that provides an operationally relevant stimulus to allow for weapon development integration and test.

-Development of firmware utilizing VHDL programming including test bench development and simulation for design verification.

-Interfacing with Printed Wire Board (PWB) designers to oversee component placement, layout, routing, signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, and manufacture of designs.Designer will be responsible for test and integration of these designs into the larger HWIL systems.

-Performance of unit, subsystem, and system level integration of hardware with firmware and software system components

-Interconnect design and development of system level interfaces

-Development of appropriate design and development documentation (block diagrams, schematics, interconnect, design description documents, specifications, design reviews)

-Working within a diverse team environment on a variety of projects and receive direction from his/her lead. The individual will be required to provide development support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance.

-Work in accordance with the Systems Test directives and HWIL One Page Process to perform product design, development, implementation and maintenance.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:

·U.S. Citizenship is required

·Basic engineering skills, familiarity with laboratory test equipment, electronics and software

·Working knowledge developing and implementing digital high speed circuits and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)

·Experience utilizing electrical and/or firmware simulation tools to troubleshoot hardware implementation and ensure integrity of the hardware products

·Working knowledge of operations in a Linux or Unix environment

·Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, and RIO

·Existing DoD Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start

Desired Skills:

·Experience in CCA design of Xilinx Programmable Devices (Virtex and Spartan Families) or Altera programmable devices (Cyclone, Stratix and Max)

·Experience using Schematic Capture tools such as DxDesigner, Boardstation, or orCad

·Experience using pSpice and implementing high speed digital designs

·Experience and knowledge developing requirements for CCAs

·Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc.

·Working knowledge of digital or mixed signal Circuit Card Assemblies.

·Working knowledge of Signal Integrity of digital signals including Grounding and shielding techniques

·Working knowledge in the integration of computer hardware interfaces

·Working knowledge in writing and/or integrating Firmware (VHDL or Verilog)

·Understanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques

Candidates must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems that emphasize innovation, ingenuity, and creativity

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering field (Software, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related) from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must have graduated with the last 18 months.

The Job Title for a Bachelor of Science degree is a Electrical Engineer I (G06). The Job Title for a Master of Science degree is a Electrical Engineer II (G07).
