University Programs: Software Engineer I (Bachelor’s Degree Level)

Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Engineering Team!

Raytheon IIS has multiple entry-level Software Engineer positions for recent college graduates to support all aspects of the software development life-cycle. The qualified candidate will act as a member of one or more multi-disciplined engineering teams with software products as part of an overall system or stand-alone. This includes supporting government and commercial programs with software design, development and implementation under the direction of a more senior-level Engineer. May support customer demonstrations, develop and execute software test plans and procedures, and assist in product integration and troubleshooting efforts.Support may also include both new and legacy systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Analytical skills

  • Customer focus and collaboration skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Software engineering requirements, design, code, unit test, troubleshooting / debugging/test

  • US Citizenship status is required as this position will need a US Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

  • Experience with one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, JAVA

Desired Skills:

  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired.

  • Knowledge/skills with technologies such as .NET, XML, WPF, GL Studio, Linux, VxWorks, SharePoint

  • Knowledge/skills of methodologies such as Agile, OO, UML, Automated test/Scripting

  • Knowledge of Real-time Operating Systems

  • Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools

  • Previous engineering projects or Internship experience

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor’s degree obtained within the past 18 months or by Spring 2018 in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related engineering degree.

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired. (Please include your transcript with your resume)
  • This position can be a Salary Grade G06 or Salary Grade G07 based on the candidate's qualifications as it relates to the educational requirement for the position.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
