2017 SVTAD Mechanical Engineer I/II New College Hire (NM)



Are you ready to begin your professional career as an engineer within Raytheon IDS’ Engineering Directorate?Our Mission Capability Verification Center is searching for a new college graduate to join the Patriot team at White Sands Missile Range, NM and support the mission test operations and design, development and analysis activities.Our engineering organization uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.


Job Description:


Our new college graduate will contribute in the design and development of non-tactical test equipment hardware utilizing computer aided design tools.Tasks include developing and/or updating existing custom test hardware to include launcher, radar and missile non-tactical test equipment. Other tasks include coordinating assembly of project deliverables and assisting in resolving manufacturing problems.



Additional responsibilities include working across disciplines and providing ad hoc assistance to support program requirements as needed.



Tasks could include assisting with and providing support to mission operations at WSMR and other locations to include coordination, system performance analysis and setup of tactical equipment such as launchers.



Do you have these Basic Qualifications and Required Education?


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline



·Knowledge of technologies, tools and best practices in designing mechanical equipment using AutoCAD and engineering drawings.


·Knowledge of drafting standards to include dimensioning and tolerancing.


·Knowledge of industry standard test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers in support of engineering troubleshooting


·Ability to analyze, problem solve, multi-task, work in a team environment and meet deadlines



Desired Qualifications:


·GPA of 3.0 highly desired


·Knowledge of ProE


·Knowledge of mechanical engineering thermodynamics


·Ability to lift and carry 25+ lbs.


·Existing secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance within 30 days.


Other Requirements:


·Occasionally work long hours and/or the weekends and travel to various locations and remote sites to support program requirements..


·Willing to adhere to the Safety, Security and Quality Management programs in place to protect and enable our workforce, and produce the highest quality test equipment.
