This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.


Raytheon Applied Signal Technology has a need in its Sunnyvale, CA, office for a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to design and implement signal processing algorithms and/or circuitry on a variety of platforms and processors.The candidate will work on software defined radio development efforts and related signal processing applications. Implementations may be in assembly language, high level languages (e.g. C), firmware, or others as appropriate.In addition, the candidate will develop and execute test for signal algorithm and software implementation performance.


The candidate will work with other experienced engineering staff to develop and deliver cutting-edge engineering solutions for the protection of our country. The successful candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.


U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:

- Training in software development in C/C++

- Training and experience with signal simulation tool (e.g. Matlab)

- Training in digital communications concepts and DSP

- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

- U.S. Citizenship is required


Desired Skills:

- Effective communication skills (i.e. Oral, Written & Listening)
- Work effectively on multi-discipline teams

- Knowledge of wireless communications standards/protocols (e.g. GSM, CDMA2000, EVDO, WCDMA, LTE)

- Practical development and test experience in the areas of wireless communications and DSP


Required Education: Must have a BS / BA from an ABET accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering or related field by Summer 2017 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.
