Job Description

The Modeling Simulation and Analysis Center within Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) consists of a highly skilled group of scientists and engineers developing the next generation of defense technologies that support our military and protect our nation and our allies. We are nationally recognized experts in Simulation, Synthetic Battlespace Design, Distributed Simulation, Videography, Scene Generation, Simulation Architecture and Simulation Lifecycle Support.Our efforts allow the customer to experiment with and develop new complex weapon systems in a simulation-driven virtual environment.


We’re looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and engaging in a dynamic team environment.You would be creating battlefield simulations, developing detailed physics based hardware and environment models, performing pre/post flight analyses, integrating weapon embedded flight software, solving run time optimization, and investigating military product value.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.


Responsibilities


·Develop and implement simulation solutions in support of system design through the entire life cycle


·Ensure system solutions meet defined requirements and function as needed


·Perform data analysis in support of trade studies, flight tests, system performance assessments and system effectiveness




Required Education:



Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, other Engineering disciplines, Physics, Math, or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum.

Required Skills and Experience:


·Programming experience using a compiled language, ex. C, C++


·U.S. Citizenship is required


·Knowledge of Physics and its application to problem solving


·Good written and oral communication


·Ability to thrive in a team environment




Other Requirements:


·Must be willing to relocate to Tucson, AZ (comprehensive relocation package available)


·Must have an existing or the ability to obtain a Department of Defense issued Secret Security clearance.



This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.

Desired Education, Skills and Experience:


·Scripting language experience such as Python or Perl


·Data analysis experience using tools such as MATLAB


·Degree in the aforementioned disciplines from an ABET accredited curriculum


·Proficiency in Linux or Unix


·Experience and knowledge developing software and/or simulation products


·Familiarity with modeling techniques for advanced systems like optical sensors, lasers, and sparse aperture arrays


·Strong presentation skills


·Knowledge of physics, random variables, and its application to modeling and analysis


·Excellent written and oral communication abilities


·Exposure to high fidelity models such as optical sensors, scene generation and advanced first principles hardware models.



Note:Bachelor of Science degree is classified as a Systems Engineer I (Salary Grade E01), Master of Science degree is classified as a Systems Engineer II (E02).
