Job Description

RF Electrical Engineer I

Raytheon Missile Systems is the world’s largest missile producer responsible for the design, test, manufacturer, and support of weapon systems supporting our US warfighter and international allies.Every missile system produced by Raytheon contains a set of advanced and purpose designed electrical subsystems.These enable the guidance, navigation, signal processing, target detection and tracking system functions.The Electrical Subsystems Directorate (ESD) is responsible for all aspects of these subsystems design, test and production.

The RF and Navigation Subsystems Department is seeking recent college graduates with the skills and passion to engineer complex RF systems, subsystems and components.A successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes.

All candidates will be expected to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, working under general supervision.The position requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques.Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

·Familiarity with design concepts, performance trade studies, link budget analyses and developed capabilities for RF communication applications

·Familiarity with hardware and software Communication Architecture trade studies

·Familiarity with telemetry and flight termination systems

·Familiarity with basic RADAR concepts, hardware/software integration and test processes and procedures

·The RF subsystems product development lifecycle

Required Skills:

·Solid background and practical understanding of RF design considerations, to include experience or relevant course work

·U.S. Citizenship is required

·Must be a recent/upcoming college graduate no longer than the past 18 months

·Candidate will have strong communication and teaming skills

·Strong problem solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternative solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.

·Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight

·Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, System Vision, MATLAB, MathCad, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Advanced Design System (ADS).

Desired Skills:

·Strong leadership, interpersonal, and technical skills with a desire to support enterprise initiatives

·Experience in the test, measurement and integration of RF products and systems

·Experience with RF signal processing and performance analysis

·Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance


Bachelor or Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Physics from an ABET accredited curriculum with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

NOTE: This position can be a Salary Grade E01 or Salary Grade E02 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
