Position Overview

Develop & establish seasonal color palettes and standards. Research trend and develop concepts driven by color, print and pattern. Manage, comment, and approve all lab dips.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Establish seasonal color palette and standards.


* Research and development of seasonal concept & color palettes: shop archives, local fabric markets, trend reports and runway.


* Pull and organize inspirational tears. Partner with designers to develop seasonal trend presentations.


* Ensure distribution of color standards to global offices and mills.


* Communicate daily with overseas and domestic offices on lab dip and handloom color comments within 48 hours - high volume color flow for all categories.


* Communicate with mills, agents, vendors, color lab technicians to identify technical limitations on various substrates and finishes for colors.


* Troubleshoot and challenge external parties to get the best color match.


* Coordinate all components in a single garment i.e. (multiple yarns, color blocking, trim, etc.)


* Coordinate and approve lab dips for both sale sample yardage and bulk.


* Identify color standards with metameric properties and find a resolve.


* Ensure color consistency across all categories


* Partner with production, overseas, and domestic mills on color approvals and timing.


* Establish and enforce procedures for maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in color coordination.



Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* B.A or B.S College degree preferably from a fashion school


* 3-5 years' experience providing technical color comments & approvals


* Excellent organizational skills; Problem solver - solutions orientated


* Self-starter, team player, and passionate about color & concept design


* Ability to have forward thinking vision for color & concept that is relevant to the CHAPS brand


* PLM - Ariba - Excel -Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop preferred.
