Job Description

Pyramyd Air is seeking an experienced HR Manager to head up their Human Resources efforts. This is a unique opportunity for the candidate who is willing to make an impact within an organization and spearhead all of the HR efforts.

The Head of HR will be responsible for coordinating the following: talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development activities, employee communication, HR aspects of payroll and Safety compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer an effective talent management program to include manpower planning, recruitment and orientation and onboarding to ensure there is a strong bench in place to operate the organization and fill positions.
  • Work with Employees to ensure all relevant employee information is properly and timely uploaded and maintained in Payroll.
  • In conjunction with broker and the President, design and administer health and welfare benefit programs to attract, motivate, reward and retain employees. Troubleshoot issues and advocate for employees where appropriate.
  • Design and direct the performance management program for the organization. Support management team in performance appraisal process and provide counsel on corrective action, where appropriate.
  • Direct HR-related compliance efforts of the organization.
  • Administer all leave programs to include FMLA, WC and disability programs.
  • Provide support and counsel to all members of the Management team on workplace matters.
  • Contribute to a positive employee relations environment. Foster a collaborative culture. Focus on employee engagement.
  • Introduce best practices to the organization in all HR functional areas.
  • Identify the need for new or updated HR policies and procedures and communicate to the organization.
  • Support the President in communicating to employees through Town Halls and other methods.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a hands on HR professional with demonstrated accomplishments in the HR field. This individual will be a key member of the management team and as such, will need to garner trust and respect at all levels of the organization.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field. SHRM certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5-7 years as an HR generalist, with at least 3 years at HR Manager level. [Experience in a multi-state environment is a plus.)
  • Demonstrated success working in a one-person department.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state-of-the-art HR practices in all HR functional areas.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the risk management components of this role and proven ability to mitigate risks for the organization, such as Worker's Compensation.
  • Solid understanding of HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Proficient with the software needed to run an effective HR function.
  • Well-versed in legal and regulatory matters that affect the workplace.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting to leadership, board members, employees and external constituents.
  • Experience with a fraternal organization model and/or financial services organization is a plus.
