This is a PSE&G position and as such may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and work schedule during storm/outage restoration efforts. Reporting to an alternate work location may also be required. NERC/CIP access is required. First line supervisory position in the Maintenance Department. Supervise repairs to electrical and mechanical equipment in substations and switching stations in accordance with manufacturers and Company standards. Direct the preventive maintenance work on substation and switching station equipment and maintain records of work performed. Plan daily work schedules and revise in accordance with failures and emergencies as needed. Train and evaluate employees in their duties. Accept substation on-call assignments and willingness to respond outside of normal working hours. Knowledge of the SAP Work Management & CMMS Data Base Systems and ability to evaluate, enter and access data. Extensive experience in the operation, construction and maintenance of Company and customer substations and switching stations. Ability to layout and supervise the work of others.

Essential:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 5 years extensive knowledge of the function, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment in substations and switching stations.
  • Working knowledge of Company-Union Agreement.
  • Most possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and internal employee directly supervising (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.
  • NERC/CIP access is required.
