JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Major responsibilities are to provide radiological technical expertise and project management for the emergency preparedness (EP) program both within PSEG Nuclear and with our offsite stakeholders. This includes: manage the PSEG Nuclear radiological portion of the EP program, to include interface between PSEG and federal (NRC and FEMA), state (DE & NJ Depts. of Public Safety & Environmental Protection), local government agencies (DE & NJ county and municipal emergency management organizations), and industry groups (NEI, INPO, ANS, etc.). Project management of PSEG Nuclear's drill/exercise/tabletop program in coordination with offsite agencies including the NRC, FEMA, state and local emergency management organizations. Ensure the Nuclear emergency response Dose Assessment Program is maintained in a constant state of readiness and in conformance with industry standards. Perform Radiological Reviews for Design Change Packages (DCP) and program changes relating to the Emergency Plan. Train radiological support and duty position members of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO). Maintain EP documents/procedures pertaining to duties of ERO RP and Chemistry responders. Have expertise in the Salem and Hope Creek Radiological Monitoring Systems (RMS). Subject matter expert (SME) concerning radiological release dose assessment. SME in the bases for all radiological emergency action levels and protective action recommendations. Maintain a thorough understanding of all EP radiological requirements and guidance documents to include, NUREGS, Reg. Guides, Code of Federal Regulations, INPO Guidance, etc.

 

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent with 3-5 years nuclear power plant work experience.
  • Basic nuclear power plant knowledge including BWR/PWR fundamentals.
  • Radiological Protection and Emergency Preparedness knowledge.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft and network applications.
  • Must meet Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.
  • Must possess an active driver’s license.

 

DESIRED:

  • A minimum of: 5 years’ experience as an emergency responder in a radiological protection leadership or assessment position, OR 5 years’ emergency preparedness staff experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide instruction and coaching.
  • Team/project facilitation skills with project management experience.
  • Registered as a Radiation Protection Technologist by the National Registry Of Radiation Protection Technologist (NRRPT).
