Product Development Summer 10 Week Internship - PSCU - St. Petersburg, FL

About Digital Solutions & Innovation Team

The Digital Solutions and Innovation team is in the PSCU Product Delivery organization focused on executing on PSCU's digital domination strategy. The team consists of 4 work groups, each with a specific mission:

* Innovation - identify, research and develop strategies for potentially disruptive technology solutions and products. This team conducts company reviews, potential partnerships and manages strategy related to key opportunities.
* Research & Design - this team conducts up front, pre-project related work in the form of research to document business requirements and/or user experience focus groups, journey mapping, and persona building to represent the user needs for new software development projects.
* Development - this is a team of product owners focused on executing on our agile projects by representing the product's needs within the teams.
* Integration - this team manages the external integration into PSCU's APIs by collaborating with vendors, partners, and credit unions. They also ensure that PSCU's API solutions keep up with market demands.

Product Development Internship

Goals and Objectives

The purpose of this engagement is to describe the opportunity for a Product Development intern to help PSCU design, develop and implement a system that will provide insights into key organizational metrics from the Digital Solutions and Innovation team.

The intern will collaborate with teams in the Digital Solutions and Innovation organization to develop key operational reporting metrics and to create a dashboard to provide leaders with access to overall statistics and measurements related to critical functions. The following are insights into key milestones related to the project, which will be measured:

* Discovery: Interview key stakeholders to understand their teams and to gather insights into the types of metrics their teams can/should track. Prepare a summary presentation to summarize findings with all stakeholders and to outline next steps.
* Determine: Leverage the input from step 1 to research, identify and recommend tool(s) that would be suitable for displaying the summarized metrics across the organization and recommend to stakeholders.
* Develop: Once approval is received, move forward with securing, configuring and building a tool that each stakeholder can use to access the metrics. Establish a process for easy updates and maintenance and present to the stakeholders for feedback. Collaborate with participants from each team to help test to extend knowledge of key product development activities.
* Transition: At the conclusion of the project, students will prepare and execute a transition plan for the project dashboard.

The PSCU's Summer Internship Program provides you - a junior or senior undergraduate student - with the chance to develop and hone your skills in business. We offer the opportunity to build for your future by learning firsthand the Financial and more specifically Credit Union industry through business acumen training, coupled with focused learning opportunities in a core functional specialty. You'll also gain insight into our rich history, our unique culture, and our committed social conscience.

In this 10-week program, for the first week you'll engage in orientation and get a grounding in Credit Unions. For the remaining time, you'll work in a specific core function in our St. Petersburg headquarters based on your interests and interview results. In addition to your daily work, you'll be participating leadership development sessions and interacting with PSCU's senior leadership teams. Intern opportunities exist in:

PSCU Intern Program Entry Qualifications

* Completion of sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program with a 3.0/4.0 GPA at time of application.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize thoughts, communicate clearly, completely and concisely.
* Strong, organizational and detail skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
* Strong critical thinking, problem solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Ability to pivot easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with heavy emphasis on Excel.
* Proficiency in software that is applicable to your major and function specific internship.
* Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.
* Reside in St. Petersburg for the full 10 week program.
* Being friendly, enthusiastic and energetic, with a genuine desire to provide extraordinary service.

Product Development Internship Requirements

* Familiarity with the following tools and skills are highly desirable: data analysis, dashboarding tools, general business concepts, research and analysis, collaborative, curiosity.
* General business knowledge, organizational behavior courses, and/or leadership involvement in extracurricular activities
* Excel and PowerPoint expertise
* Knowledge of dashboarding solutions and/or ways to conceptualize complex data in simple ways preferred.
