Job Description

ProMedica is a locally-owned, nonprofit health system providing quality health care services to 27 counties in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. We're a network of hospitals, physicians, health care professionals, researchers, and specialty clinics and facilities. We offer a full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical specialties in areas such as emergency medicine and trauma, heart and vascular, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, women's services, and children's services.

Under general supervision of management, visually observes the ProMedica EBEID Market property to monitor the safety of employees and visitors against fire, theft and physical harm.

* Provides a physical presence for ProMedica EBEID Market property, employees and visitors by patrolling assigned areas and reporting criminal acts when observed.
* Monitors conduct of visitors on ProMedica EBEID Market property.
* Must adhere to all policies, procedures, objectives and safety standards.
* Within 12 month training period must successfully complete all training required by ProMedica Health Systems and/or ProMedica Security Services as defined in organizational policies, procedures or by assignment.
* Must remain current in any certifications and knowledgeable in infection control and hazardous material measures.
* Must maintain annual fit testing requirements and CPR certification and all other in-services required by JCAHO.
* Must maintain IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification once received.
* Must maintain knowledge of all camera equipment procedures and how to view ensuring that all equipment remains in serviceable and operational condition.
* Reporting defective or inoperable equipment to ProMedica Security Services when noted.
* Provides escorts to personnel as needed.
* Secures found items and valuables, completing appropriate documents to ensure their successful disposition within the system.
* Attends meetings as required.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must be willing to complete Basic Security Officer Certification through IAHSS within one (1) year of appointment.
* Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
* Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries, possess effective interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to tolerate potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
* Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry medium weight materials or objects and with assistance occasionally move very heavy patients or individuals.
* Must possess and maintain physical fitness to provide for effective performance of the job.
