We create value by developing and managing a world-class portfolio of high-quality logistics and distribution facilities, serving customers and investors as an integral part of the global supply chain.

An opportunity has arisen to work within the European Valuations team overseeing external revaluation work on behalf of four pan European logistics funds.  The position would ideally suit a conscientious and enthusiastic Real Estate Professional with strong organisational and valuation skills with aspirations to gain knowledge of international markets.  The role may, however, suit candidates with strong analytical skills and an understanding of cashflow modeling.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Working within the Pan European Valuation Team assisting with the coordination of external portfolio valuations; ensuring information provided to the External Valuers is accurate and liaising with both with Market Officers and Property Management teams as appropriate
  • Reviewing portfolio valuation results for accuracy of data, monitoring market transactions and ensuring consistency in pricing across both valuers and markets
  • Assisting with providing property documents and tenant information to External Valuers to ensure timely and accurate valuations
  • Coordinating initial acquisition valuations of new properties acquired from third parties
  • Involvement in reviewing development projects and other balance sheet assets and providing valuation related input together with value estimations of these assets
  • Assisting with providing guidance on leasing initiatives and their potential impact on asset value

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Analytical skills: strong attention to detail and ability to analyze detailed financial information without losing the objective to understand the overall picture, especially in a high volume environment, and an ability to perform calculations accurately as well as understanding sensitivities surrounding relevant variables
  • Hands-on mentality: ability to manage a diverse range of competing requests from the business at any one time whilst delivering high quality results; proactively and practically assist other departments with valuation related advice and provide and implement solutions to changing requirements
  • Interpersonal and communication skills: ability to communicate extensively and to build strong relationships with your colleagues and third parties, as well as an ability to quickly summarize and present relevant aspects of valuations to people with different levels of seniority
  • Self development: ability to develop yourself continuously to become more effective, reflect on your own behavior and take time to listen to feedback from your manager, peers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Confidentiality: be absolutely trustworthy and treat all information with the highest level of confidentiality
  • Cultural sensitivity: ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix structure environment, act and respond appropriately in a political environment, properly handle confidential information and work in a constructive way with other staff groups
  • Degree level education (Bachelor or Master), preferably in a property related undergraduate course and a minimum of two years property based experience or equivalent.
  • Ideally a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with 0-2 years PQE, a background in valuations and preferably portfolio revaluation work.  However, consideration will be given to other candidates with suitable skill sets.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of Argus software or experience with Excel-based financial modeling is a strong preference
  • Excellent communication skills – the role will involve regular contact with offices throughout Europe, both internal and external
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • The role would suit an enthusiastic, hard working team player who is flexible in their approach to the work and keen to develop a career in commercial property
  • Fluent in business English essential, other European languages an advantage
