Responsibilities

The Project Management Office (PMO) Governance team oversees the structure and practices of the CIBC US PMO. This ensures compliance with enterprise policy and standards, prioritizes CIBC's most strategic and business critical projects, and enables a world class PMO organization to deliver projects with full scope on time and within budget.

The Project Management Governance II role reports to the PMO Governance Manager and will operate across a broad range of PMO Governance functions, with an opportunity to grow their contribution and ownership within the team. Functions of the team include:

* Process- Definition, deployment, compliance, feedback and continuous improvement of PMO Processes and Templates.
* Systems & Tools- Selection, deployment and support to drive Project Manager efficiency and effectiveness.
* Project Intake- Supporting, tracking, prioritizing and dispositioning new project requests.
* Quality Assurance- Review project deliverables for completeness, timeliness, quality and lessons learned.
* Metrics & Reporting- Definition, implementation and analysis to drive decision making and results.
* Resource Management- Assist in the assignment and tracking of department resources to prioritized projects.
* Integration- Collaborate across the enterprise to define and negotiate common processes and tools.
* Meetings- Facilitate standing meetings, including preparation of meeting materials and distribution of clear and concise meeting minutes.
* Training- Process and system training for PMO new hires.
* Financial- Project financial oversight and tracking via collaboration with Finance.

Qualifications

* Perceptive, self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working effectively across the PMO, the US region and the global Enterprise. Breaks down barriers and builds consensus.
* Proactively communicates and collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand needs and requirements.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
* Technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly gain expertise on new systems and lead others through technology transitions.
* Maintains a strong working knowledge of bank operations, systems, products, processes and controls.
* Detail oriented and highly organized.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
* College Degree required.
* Strong working knowledge of the Project Management function, with a minimum of 2 years explicit governance, process or project controls experience.
* Minimum of 5 years prior Project Management experience, in support of the financial services industry.
* Professional certification preferred (e.g. PMP or Prince2).
