Principal is currently seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to join our Costa Mesa team.

As a Relationship Manager, you will be the main point of contact for financial advisors and retirement plan sponsors located throughout the Southern California area. Leveraging your retirement plan knowledge and strong communication skills to help advisors and plan sponsors achieve positive outcomes will be essential.

Skills Required:

* Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent required
* 4+ years of work related experience within the retirement plan industry which would include the following type of experience: retirement plan client relationship management, retirement plan participant education experience, or related corporate retirement plan experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.
* Must become registered with Principal Securities.
* Ability to understand and explain technical information to a variety of audiences.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, decision-making and multitasking skills are required.
* Must be self-motivated, flexible and be able to use independent judgment.
* Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment.
* Strong work ethic demonstrated by ability to meet and exceed established goals, and to execute routinely.
* Willingness to travel (60%-70%) daily travel with some overnight stays (5-10%). Territory for this position is regionally focused in Southern California.

Successful Candidates will have the following:

* Experience working with financial professionals, consultants, and clients at the Plan level
* Finalist Sales Presentation, Client Presentation, and Participant Education experience preferred
* Experience working with multiple retirement plan types (Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, ESOP, Non-Qualified, Non-Profit)

Licenses Required:

* Successful Life/Health licensing within 4 months.

Successful FINRA/State Registrations:

* SIE, Series 6 and 63 (or equivalents) within 5 months
* Series 65 (or equivalents) registration within 6 months
