Job Description

Introduction

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism in partnership with Prince William County Schools implements activities associated with the 21st Century Grant Program. This program offers after school activities on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to middle schoolers from Hampton Middle School and Fred Lynn Middle School. The goal of this program is to provide students with opportunities to learn, grow and experience new things. We are looking for instructors who are interested in working and making a difference with youth and who can work well within a team of instructors to plan and implement a wide variety of recreational activities in both indoor and outdoor settings. The program typically begins in late September and continues through May. The program schedule follows the PWC school schedule related to breaks and teacher workdays.

Typical Tasks

* Implementing games related to sports, fitness, general team building
* Supervision and giving direction
* Activity Planning

Start Salary: $13.42/hour

May require some physical effort.
