PHYSICAL THERAPIST
REHAB UNIT - INPATIENT

Availability Desired:
Shift:                Weekend availability and flexibility during weekdays preferred

Summary:
Evaluates and treats patients using the principles and practices of physical therapy and in accordance with the patient's age, developmental level, and diagnosis.  Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.  License-eligible therapists would perform duties under the supervision of a licensed therapist in accordance with the Illinois Physical Therapy Practice Act.

  • Essential Duties include:
    Evaluates patients, establishes goals, and develops individualized treatment plans as prescribed by a licensed physician/practitioner.
    Provides direct patient treatment based on current physical therapy practice and revises treatment plan based on the patient's response.
    Provides education to patient and family/caregiver regarding patient's abilities and need for assistance and continued therapeutic intervention.
    Recommends modification or changes in the patient's treatment program to the referring physician based on evaluation of progress. 
    Prepares written/computer documentation as required by the profession and the department.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: 
    A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's and/or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy is preferred. 
    Candidates must be graduates of an approved school of Physical Therapy in accordance with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. 
    Minimum 1 year experience required
    2-3 years experience preferred
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    Current Illinois license in Physical Therapy or License Eligible for new graduates.
    CPR certification
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    IP Rehab and FIM scoring experience preferred.
