Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

Position Summary:

Assists the Plant Controller with providing financial planning and control services through a professional staff of financial analysts, processors, and accountants. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Coordinate preparation of Plant financial accounts in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and statutes for corporate and regulatory agencies as required
* Coordinate with internal analysts and external Accountants as required
* Develop intermediate/short range Departmental goals and objectives in partnership with Directorate
* Coordinate, implement, and monitor plans, programs, targets, and initiatives. Develop schedule, quality, and cost metrics
* Manage direct reports; Delegate to direct reports or teams with direct reports to accomplish Departmental goals
* Works with other Managers to coordinate Plant operations and activities
* Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and resources to meet Departmental goals
* Partners with HR and direct reports to resolve problems, complaints or grievances, and to plan and forecast staffing
* Partner with Quality to align Directorate goals with Business Quality Management System (BQMS)
* Champion Six Sigma and facilitate lean initiatives
* Develop and deploy management metrics
* Support IT and Production with long-range resource plans
* May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

* Knowledge of economic and GAAP/accounting principles, financial markets, and IFRS/financial analysis and data reporting
* Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership and teaming; and production methods
* Excellent computer skills including a high degree of skill in Excel and PowerPoint; Exposure to ERP systems
* Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
* Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
* Consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
* Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels
* Able to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* CPA or CMA preferred
* 3-5 years' accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
* Minimum 1-2 years in leadership role, preferably with direct reports
