Are you interested in working in Security Operations? Do you have a desire to learn more about Aviation? The Aviation Security Operations Internship is a multi-faceted position that will assist the Aviation Security Operations department with research, tracking, planning, screening and badging projects as well as training. This is an amazing opportunity to learn while also assisting with representation for the Port and the Security Operations team.

To be considered for this intern position you must be a current student enrolled in a Portland-area school for the duration of employment (up to 12 months). Spring 2020 graduates will not be eligible for this internship unless documentation of continued educational classes (graduate school related to the field) can be provided at the time of application.

Port Interns learn on the job under close supervision, receive feedback from Port staff and complete work products that align with the students learning objectives and contribute to the Port's mission.

Summary of Essential Responsibilities:

* Assists with the development, maintaining and updating internal reports
* Help with external and internal requests for presentations, surveys, statistical business reports to include graphics and formatting, and databases for use in research and analyses.
* Provide assistance for Aviation Security meetings, teleconferences, monthly concessions managers meetings, airline station managers, and TSA meetings.
* Performs research in support of Aviation Security Operations which include PDX badging functions and supporting activities.
* Provides logistical support associated with Aviation Security construction projects and vendor screening program with occasional property inspections.
* Assists with the development of workshops designed to inform and educate PDX badge holders and authorized signatories.
* Creation and updating of information, marketing materials for workshops and assist stakeholders at attendance of events.
* Provide the Aviation Security Department team with research into developments, business terms and best practices at other airports.
* Assist with efforts related to the Aviation Security department's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion program.

Minimum Requirements: To be considered for an intern position you must meet the following criteria:

* Be a current student (Spring 2020 graduates will not be considered)
* Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; and keep a minimum of part-time enrollment status for the duration of employment.
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Marketing, Data Analytics, Homeland Security Studies, Avionics, or any aviation security related field.
* Articulate and persuasive oral and written skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups.
* Exceptionally organized with high level of attention to detail.
* Essential Microsoft Office Suite products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
* Statistical analysis and research skills.
