The Commercial Marine and ST&L Application Analyst is part of the CMLS Digital IT Business Solutions - Surface Transportation and Logistics support team in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for first line support of the Commercial Marine application suite used to support the Commercial Marine Business, including the Business Improvement team. The primary responsibilities of this analyst position will be to provide business solutions/functional-based systems production support to our Commercial Marine organization. In addition, cross-training and backup to the Surface Transportation and Logistcs Business, networking with Commercial Marine, Surface Transportation and Logistics team, Freight Accounting, Finance, Risk, other IT support groups and software vendors to investigate, analyze, troubleshoot and determine how to configure and exploit new functionality for the benefit of the Commercial Marine organization daily.

The Analyst will be required to gain an understanding of the functionality, configuration and architecture for the Marine applications, including vendor software as well as Phillips 66 specific configuration, processes, interfaces, and add-on applications.

The Analyst filling this position will be expected to have both analytical and technical experience in IT application support, expertise using MS SQL and Commercial business knowledge in one or more areas of the organization.

Responsibilities may include:

* Providing front-line production application support to the business focusing on Marine front office, back office (Accounting) components of our Commercial Marine business
* Collaborating with the business and IT Business Analyst to develop business functional requirements for small enhancements, possible operational capex projects and coordinate with the IT development team to deliver the solution to the business
* Assisting with application and technical support of AdvantEdge66 projects and/or workstream needs
* Cross-training and backfill support of the Surface Transportation and Logistics organization
* Analyzing data or system issues directly on SQL database servers
* Being the liaison between Commercial Marine business, developers and other IT leveraged services teams to provide functional and technical support as appropriate
* Being the liaison between Commercial Marine and software vendor(s) to troubleshoot software issues, submit tickets and define software enhancements
* Technical developer opportunities existing in this role that will allow for the analyst to perform and/or work with the Business Analyst on functional requirements for enhancements, as well as the follow-on technical development in SQL and .NET



* Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* 5 or more years application support experience
* 3 or more years of experience with SQL in relational databases
* Ability and willingness to provide day-to-day 24x7 application support on a rotational basis as needed
* Ability to work with vendors to support vendor hosted applications
* Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel


* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences or IT related field
* Experience with SQL stored procedures, .NET, ASP.Net, Alteryx, Tableau, WEBI (Business Objects reporting), REST API
* Experience IMOSLive, MASTR, PINS, DMS, PortVision, SAP and SAP BW
* Experience with Marine and/or Refining business units
* Strong analytical and technical skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Effective communication skills with the ability to relate to technical and business processes
* Ability to initiate tasks and demonstrate innovative behavior
