Entry-Level Software Engineer

Your Challenge

We challenge you to work as an Entry-level Software Engineer within Philips Emergency Care & Resuscitation group. In this role you will be challenged to perform as a Software Development Engineer in the Philips ECR Data Management Solutions Group (DMSG) located in Bothell, WA. Bring your enthusiasm, energy, can-do attitude and drive to help build software to support Philip's Automated External Defibrillator (AED) customers.


- Participate in the development of Data Management Solutions Group (DMSG) software applications which will entail requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and documentation

Create products according to the specifications and software development process
Create engineering documentation to comply with the product development policies, practices, and procedures
Collaborate with Software Development Engineers and Software Test Engineers to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner

Support development efforts by aiding with testing and troubleshooting
Support investigation and resolution of defects in the installed base of existing products
Consistently meet scheduled deliverables and assigned tasks
Write engineering and/or project documentation with direction
Mentors team members
Self-directed in execution of work
Help drive the transition of our products to the Cloud
Participate in code reviews as directed

Your Team

You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Software Development in Philips Emergency Care & Resuscitation (ECR) Business Innovation Unit (BIU). The ECR team is part of Philips Patient Care & Monitoring Solutions (PCMS) division. This position is based in Bothell, WA.

We are looking for

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

- 0-2 years of working experience

- Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies & products (e.g., Windows, .NET Framework, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server (TFS), etc.)

- Working knowledge of software application design, development, and testing

- Understanding of Object Oriented concepts

- Working knowledge of C#

- Ability to work independently or in a team

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Good learning aptitude

Desired Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Medical industry or other regulated industry experience

- Experience with web application development and/or delivering software as a service (SaaS) is a definite plus

- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Experience with Agile / Scaled Agile Framework (SAF)

- Experience with SQL Server & database development
