This internship gives you the opportunity to work in a professional and highly international environmental. You will be engaged in various projects such as training events and regular research activities performed to help other departments in Signify.

The internship duration is 6-9 months and is in our Amsterdam office.

The team

Group Accounting and Reporting (GA&R) is the team in Signify with the responsibility for the preparation and analysis of consolidated information. The team serves as an oversight body, helping our organization in aligning business and financial reporting requirements. As such, the team works closely together with the Markets, Business Groups, group functions and our R2R team to deliver quality internal and external financial reporting.

The GA&R team is an inspired and international team of accounting experts who collaborate to deliver quality financial reporting efficiently and effectively. We provide the foundation for Signify financial integrity and transparency.

What you'll do

GA&R's key areas of responsibility:

* Preparing and analyzing consolidated financial statements that are used for internal (Monthly) and external purposes (Quarterly/Half-yearly/Annually);
* Being the authority on the Signify Accounting Principles and external reporting matters, i.e. Finance Reference Toolset (incl. new IFRS) and Financial Codebook;
* Pro-actively carry out reviews on the consolidated financial information ensuring that transactions are reported consistently with the applicable accounting standards (oversight); and
* Providing support to Markets, BGs and group functions on the appropriate accounting treatment for transactions.

What you'll need

To be a motivated student who is currently studying towards a master in accounting (basic training in IFRS is part of your education).

We expect from you also to have:

* Fluency in oral and written English;
* Some experience in previous internships regarding the same field (preferred but not required);
* Excellent knowledge in windows applications, and most important well-developed power point skills; and
* Team player mindset with ability to work under pressure.

Your main areas of responsibility are:

* Contribute to the GA&R specialists' assignments in performing research on particular accounting matters relating to IFRS;
* Assist in the revision of Signify accounting manual;
* Add your own value in training events; and
* Assist in preparing accounting presentations in PowerPoint.

Internship Conditions

* You will receive an internship allowance; the exact amount depends on your situation. (also towards rented accommodation or public transportation);
* The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month;
* Opportunity to buy Signify products with tax benefit


* EU/EER students: In order to be considered for this internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation of this may be requested at any time.
* Non-EU students in Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (receive ECTS in turn). In case of non-compulsory internship, you need to have a letter from the university in which it states that your internship contributes to your personal development, what your learning goals are and what tasks you will undertake during your internship. The letter has to be signed and stamped by your university.
* Non-EU students in non-Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and the internship should be a compulsory part of your studies. Also, you need to be able to get the official approval of your university for this internship (Nuffic agreement).
