PharMerica Hospital Services division is recruiting a Pharmacy Intern to join our team.


Summary: This position is a learning opportunity for a student pharmacist to shadow practicing pharmacists in a professional setting.


Essential Functions:

  • Under the supervision of the licensed Pharmacist, practice record-keeping duties.
  • Learn how to review physician orders and enter medication orders into the computer
  • Assist with patient consultation and admission medication histories and discharge medication reviews
  • Learn how to prepare IV solutions in compliance with USP797 standards
  • Learn the Joint Commission standards
  • Check for possible harmful interactions among different drugs.
  • Works under direct pharmacist supervision.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Currently enrolled in School of Pharmacy or accredited program
  • Intern Pharmacist License if required by state
  • Occasional weekend rotation shifts
