Job Description:

  • Senior Director over enterprise architecture
  • Specifically responsible for enterprise architects 5 Big Components: Managing enterprise architects Knowing enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF Application rationalization - looking at what everyone is working on and what applications are going on. Help to consolidate or eliminate duplicate work or functionality. Responsible for leading both an Agile transformation as well as a DevOps transformation. (CI/CD) Direct reports are 14 total in Rapid Application Development...3 directors, 4 4E UX, 5 4E tech lead, 2 2E developer there are 4 other 5E solution architects in IFS, one each in each domain ORIGINAL INTAKE NOTES: Familiarity with Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, EAP, TAFIM, etc.. Experience with application rationalization (term of looking at old apps and going through a process of consolidate/rationalize/integrate) Someone who understands the differences in when you would a particular cloud capability vs another (IAAS vs PAAS vs SAAS vs Azure) - need someone who can understand what to use when and why Budgets associated with projects and team - $10M to $15M Leading a large organization through a transformation change such as Agile - come up with a plan and an approach to transition the teams - leading a cross functional team through a change in how people work "We have 1700 apps, what approach are you going to use transition teams that don't report to you?" Current 6E's direct reports today and all solution architects in US IT will be dotted line to make up the EA Will likely hire the main EA point of contact and someone to lead the Agile initiative DevOps Tools - Pegasus (.Net CICD) and Albatross (Open Source CICD) Will be very important that this person plays well with other Domain leads Background: Oversee all enterprise architecture, Java, .NET, infrastructure, etc. Key Points: Person needs to be in a Director of Enterprise Architecture for a min of 5 years, anything less won't be considered o No directors of dev, or manager of app dev o No people that are trying to next step Led a company through a true Agile transformation, need to be truly Agile o They are expecting to look outside of area o Ex companies that might fit: RJF, Agile Thought, probably not a lot that are truly large enough and that are full Agile in Tampa Led a DevOps transformation, implementing a true CI/CD in an organization - More of a plus but ideally they will have this Other: Travel once a month, likely 20%, could be some international travel too. No set relo package but $5K-$10K is possible if needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years Experience:
  • Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in strategic IT including the following areas: - Application development methodologies and technologies; - Strategic management and delivery methodologies to drive an agile delivery culture to organize, plan, and carry out complex assignments; - Application delivery strategy and delivery with application support, prioritized functionality and user experience;
  • Business skills (ie financial, resource, vendor, issue management, etc) to solve critical and strategic business technology issues; and - IT management, strategy, and structure and how it fits into the firm and network strategy.
  • Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in strategic IT including the following areas: - Leading high performing, agile delivery teams within a rapidly changing environment with employees, contractors, and sourced resources; - Working with business sponsors and solution architects to understand business priorities, fiscal year budgets, and project roadmaps
  • Participating in IT strategy and planning activities, bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology, processes, and industry leading practices as related to business requirements;
  • Leading an IT organization in a hands-on leadership role, accountable for tactical, financial, and strategic outcomes of the group based on delivery and operational needs from the business organizations;
  • Driving organizational initiatives for a large portfolio; setting and adjusting priorities; removing barriers and acting with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Providing hands-on leadership of delivery team for key business initiatives
  • Extensively collaborating with others to Client creative solutions to complex problems, which may require unique approaches, while maintaining standards and minimizing any risk to the firm
  • Establishing application delivery efforts are focused on the user and continual focus on improving the experience of the application user
  • Determining resourcing across the domain including working with solution architect and delivery managers to determine which efforts will be delivered using company resources and/or sourcing providers
  • Actively coaching and development of the US IT team, including staff selection, engagement, retention, and performance; and - Maintaining effective relationships and channels of communication with business sponsors and IT leadership including collaborating with senior level staff/partners in other departments and across IT domains.
