Job Description

Manufacturing Operator

Employees are hired as manufacturing operators. Machine operators would learn different areas such as: Winding, Assembly, and Blowmold.

Winding: This area is responsible for winding tank liner with fiberglass strands that are coated with a mixture of resin and hardener.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare liner for winding, assemble liner with winding tooling and if needed apply a release agent on the surface (silicone inlets)

2. Wind tanks. This entails watching for knots, inlet build up and circ location

3. Roll tank out: roll extra resin off the tank

4. Hang tank on oven line

5. Other duties as assigned.

6. Demonstrates Pentair's Win Right culture when interacting with customers, co-workers and suppliers

7. Follows all 5S and lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures

Assembly Area: This area is responsible for offloading, assembling, filling, testing and packaging Polyglass tanks. This are is also responsible for performing quality inspections on each tank by identifying and communicating any potential non-conforming product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for unloading tanks from the conveyor line, inspecting for defects, and cleaning inlets.

2.Responsible for placing tanks on basing fixture to achieve desired height.

3.Responsible for preparing tanks for filling operation and place unit into resin load dispenser.

4.Responsible for removing tanks from resin load and weigh to specification.

5.Responsible for finishing packaging and place on skid per schedule card.

6.Responsible for performing all Polyglass assembly responsibilities as needed based upon business demands (Unload tanks from the conveyor line, inspect for defects, and clean inlets, Leak test tanks via water dunk test or gas detection, complete final assembly of base on the tanks, and package tanks in Gaylord).

7.Responsible for system assembly operations (Pro-Elite & Angelfish).

8.Other duties as assigned.

10.Follows all 5S and lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures

Blowmold: Produce the liners and/or aircells using blowmold presses. The liners and aircells will be used to make a finished product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Make liners and/or aircells which entails: placing inserts in mold; lifting processed parts out; trimming parts; flaming liners; and operating press - throughout this entire process, cutting and grinding all scrap and Flash.

2. Weighs and records part weights

3. Inspects parts

4. Records all scrap and all production processed

5. Labels and boxes product

6. Performs general clean up duties within the BlowMold area

7. During downtimes, may assemble boxes, give other operators breaks, and transport product to the winding department.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Position requires constant standing and walking as part of the job. There is lifting of up to 50 lbs. maximum on a daily basis. When working with wide body tanks (weighing more than 50 lbs.) there is lifting equipment available. Some sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead is necessary. Extensive use of hands.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

1. Manufacturing experience preferred.

2. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

3. Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.

4. Ability to read and understand standard work instructions

5. Decision making ability to resolve problems and prioritize multiple tasks

6. Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

7. Ability to communicate effectively.
