Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, assembles and wires components into sub-assemblies or final control valve assemblies.

General Assembler Duties and Responsibilities:


Ability to build control valves and sub-assemblies correctly using bills of material, work instructions, and company process following procedures for product assembly/fabrication, equipment operation, and safety requirements as documented in the company's quality system.


Ability to assemble and test products while handling products, equipment, and materials per the production department and company's quality system procedures.


Work alongside team members while striving for the daily production goals.


Able to receive and provide basic training to co-workers.


Must understand quality procedures and where they are located.


Follow all safety rules and guidelines


Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required

Prior assembly experience and basic print reading preferred

Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees and departments

Demonstrating effort to developing a team relationship

Assembler Levels

Assembler IDuties and Responsibilities:


Understands, follow, and actively participate in lean initiatives (hr x hr documenting, line standard work, MDI, 5s).


Show interest in line improvement, identify concerns, and actively give suggestions.


Understand the basics for problem solving on the line, can identify tester issues, follows trouble-shooting flowcharts.


Produces a quality product utilizing standard work (using CTQ list for stations); actively catches mistakes during build process

Assembler II Duties and Responsibilities:


Adheres to all duties and responsibilities listed under Assembler I status

Knows 2-3 full lines (8-10) stations; satisfy 1 year of service as an Assembler I in regular employment status


Participates and actively completes documents associated with lean initiatives (SQDCC charting, promotes 5s).


Practices continuous improvement on a daily basis


Comfortably identifies issues in the line and actively participates in the resolution process (RCCM, 5-why)


Produces a quality product utilizing standard work (using CTQ list for stations); actively interacts with team to understand quality issues and help identify repeats

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Stand for 8 to 12 hours, walk, bend, and perform basic motor skills. Lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20-30 lbs. Follow ergonomically correct postures for bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
