Description

The part time Intern will assist the Center for Student and Civic Engagement in creating a vibrant, engaging campus community that fosters learning opportunities, leadership development, positive social connections, and a co-curricular experience. The position will focus on supporting student organizations through different avenues like advising students on process and procedure, managing data and information, communicating deadlines and supporting recognition standards, and creating opportunities for service and personal development. The Intern is also responsible for the coordination, marketing, and delivery of a variety of student programs and major campus events. The duties and responsibilities include assisting in the planning, management, and implementation of the Center's special events (i.e. Orientation, Involvement Fairs). This student will perform other duties as assigned (i.e. answering phones, fielding questions, administrative work). Preferably this student will have knowledge of working on a variety of social media tools, like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. Duties are performed under general direction of the Director and Assistant Director of Center for Student and Civic Engagement. Work schedule will be determined mutually with the Director, Assistant Director, and the Intern. To be successful in this position, one must have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time, often competing, while also serving as a positive, ethical, and professional role model to students. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Connect, and understanding of University organizations are a must. On average, the Intern will work 15 hours per week. Hours worked will be primarily Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Exact schedule will be determined with successful candidate.
