PeaceHealth is seeking a Supervisor Contract Administration and Paralegal for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.


Responsible for monitoring the overall Contract Administration services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and stewardship of resources.  Supervises the daily activities and supervision of the Contract Coordinators in addition to performing paralegal responsibilities.


  1. Link mission into day-to-day work, focuses on meeting organization/departmental targets, monitors budget variances and recommends or develops plans for improvement, assuring regulatory compliance in area of responsibility.
  2. Recommends selection of Contract Coordinator staff, monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of staff.  Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop staff, provides meaningful and constructive feedback.  Responsible for training and development of staff.
  3. Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the Contract Coordinator team.
  4. Drafts form physician contracts and other selected contracts.
  5. Provides coordination of contracts within the department and administers the contract database and related website.
  6. Participates in operational planning within the department.
  7. Ensures contracts are prepared, executed, maintained, and renewed in compliance with PeaceHealth’s contract administration policies.
  8. Completes legal research as requested, including internet and other forms of computerized research.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - Required unless otherwise stated


  • Associates degree in Business Administration, Management or related field or equivalent experience required.


  • Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience in a corporate or private law practice setting required.
  • Previous leadership training and supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare business applications or contracts/legal department preferred.


  • Paralegal certification preferred.


  • Familiarity and experience with legal documents and contract language.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills as well as analytical and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external constituencies at all levels.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access databases, and the Internet.
