PeaceHealth is seeking a Informaticist for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY
Facilitates the provision of informatics processes through the effective use of available technologies; ensures that technology is implemented in a manner that supports the practice, optimizes workflow and provides decision support; ensures all related systems and work-flows are properly integrated into the work environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Under minimal supervision, leads planning, design and implementation teams for applications to ensure that the application design and build meets the needs of the staff for appropriate data capture and workflow process and help ensure adoption.
2. Participates as a resource to IST in the building and implementing of all applications to support the financial goals of the organization: identifies opportunities to replace redundant or manual processes with automation.
3. Maintains current knowledge of legal and regulatory standards and standards of practice to ensure that the systems support compliance with these standards.
4. Maintains current knowledge of informatics practices to promote an evidence-based practice model for systems throughout the organization; assisting the assigned IST analysis(s) and other systems staff in build and maintenance as indicated; has/acquires and maintains a working knowledge of the environment, workflow, job responsibilities and processes in assigned areas.
5. Participates in the development of training and training materials by: collaborating with education and users; integrating workflow into the training of all system users.
6. Effectively communicates by: interpreting and conveying information clearly, accurately and in a timely manner; establishing and maintaining open, effective communications between all teams of caregivers, vendors, etc.; utilizing correct channels of communication and recognized organization communication standard; keeping abreast of and complying with departmental and organizational changes and events through reading posted communications and attending assigned meetings.
7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Degree in discipline such as nursing, informatics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:  

Minimum of five years’ experience in the medical health field
Experience supporting operations in an electronic healthcare environment or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Knowledge and understanding of related protocols, hardware documentation and systems applications.
Epic experience preferred

LPN or RN preferred.
 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

CPHIMS, ANIA or other informatics certification preferred. RN or LPN preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration to practice in trained related area as required by State preferred.
 

OTHER SKILLS:  

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to speak and write clearly and report out empirical data in an accurate and organized manner;
Strong analysis/problem solving and critical thinking; excellent computer skills with and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT);
Strong leadership, facilitation and teaching skills;
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams;
Proven ability to work independently prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines.
