PeaceHealth is seeking a Training Consultant - Learning & Development for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY

Designs and delivers highly complex training and staff development programs.  Leads collaboration efforts with network departments and senior leaders to assess training needs and training program development.  Ensures training programs deliver upon desired performance objectives and outcomes.  Collaborates across networks in developing training programs, materials and promoting standardization. Responsible for effective coordination and communication with network partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Implements education plans and responsible for achievement of organizational outcomes that meet project timelines for assigned network.  Develops project plans including audience analysis, job-specific curriculum assignment, instructional design, and curriculum review.

2. Prepares business cases for training in alignment with business and organization priorities.

3. Sets standards for developing and maintaining training.  Create and implement training strategy and delivery of training modality.

4. Lead and collaborate across networks in developing training programs, materials, logistics, standardization, and quality.

5. Mentor and coach trainers in the learning and development organization to improve knowledge and skills.  Lead the work of other learning team members.

6. Contribute to the development of department budget, expenditures, purchases, etc. for assigned network.

7. Participates in the development and implementation of policies in support of the learning and development program

8. Identifies and develops appropriate alternative or creative solutions for addressing various training needs and audiences.

9. Research and investigate needs in the network by partnering with senior leaders and asking questions to formulate informed recommendations.  Research industry best practices to ensure all training reflects highest level of quality.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Organizational Development, Business or similar degree required.
  • Master’s degree strongly preferred. 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:              

  • Minimum of six years training experience, preferably in healthcare, required.
  • Minimum of five years instructional design experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing training projects and initiatives in a large healthcare organization.
  • Experience in building and managing relationships at all levels in an organization.
  • Experience in instructional design and training material development.
  • Experience in eLearning development in common tools.
  • Experience in adult learning theory, needs assessment, and the facilitation of work teams. 
  • Track record of influencing senior leaders, delivering practical solutions and driving change

OTHER SKILLS:  

  • Expertise in adult learning theory, motivation and development.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to effectively map out and follow priorities, timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and address needs proactively.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional customer services skills and ability to attend to end user experience.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change and ambiguity.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and juggle conflicting priorities and deadlines.

REGIONAL/LOCATION SPECIFIC NOTES

  • Requires some travel.
