PeaceHealth is seeking a Hemodialysis Technician - Dialysis (Per Diem) for a per diem, Variable shift position.


Continuously exemplifies the mission, values and customer service philosophy of PeaceHealth in job performance and in relationships to others. Will assure the safe and efficient operation of the mechanical and physical aspects of the Hemodialysis Unit in order to provide a safe Hemodialysis system for both acute and chronic patients.


  1. Sets up dialysis equipment, initiates and terminates dialysis treatment in a safe and efficient manner, as well as cleans equipment and returns it to ready state for the next dialysis patient.
  2. Monitors and reports to the RN all abnormal signs and symptoms of the physiological state of the patient as well as those of the machinery and water treatment system, while taking necessary interventions that are within the technician’s scope of practice.
  3. Insures that all activities are performed in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with hospital and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to participate within the scope of their practice the following: assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  5. Works readily and efficiently with hospital staff and physicians on any unit of the hospital when servicing the Hemodialysis patients in their areas.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Associates degree is preferred.


  • Minimum of 1 year dialysis experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year prior patient care experience is preferred.


  • BLS – Healthcare Provider
  • Must obtain Washington State “Health Care Assistant, Category G” certification within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Must obtain Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) through BONET or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) through NNCC within 18 months from date of hire.


  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with computers
  • Ability to multi-task


  • Work requires moderate physical exertion to include prolonged periods of standing from 34% to 65% of the time.     
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.          
  • Work requires frequent exposure to minor cold, heat, poor ventilation or sharp instruments; reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more; hazards may include exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, soiled linens, unknown liquid in trash bags and biohazards (sharps).          
  • Duties require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail (more than 65% of work time).
