PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Clinical Research Coordinator position  at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon. This  is a full-time, salaried position working in the Clinical Research Department. 


Responsible for the coordination of clinical research trials.  Oversees staff and related clinical operations.  Services as a point person for Sponsors, Principal Investigators, and other stakeholders.


1. Evaluate protocols and assess feasibility of proposed clinical trials.  Organize and participate in site initiation visits.  Serve as point person for clinical site monitoring visits.

2. Work with study team and Director to ensure clinical trials are conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations as well as the standards of Good Clinical Practice guidelines and policies and procedures mandated by the study sponsor.

3. Monitor enrollment and provide enrollment updates for clinical team and sponsor.  Ensure compliance with protocols and documentation requirements.

4. May perform for clinical research nurse activities (i.e. recruitment, informed consent, procedure, visits).

5. Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Graduate of an accredit State Board of Nursing approved program.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.


  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in field relevant to hiring department
  • Clinical research experience preferred.


  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required.
  • Association of Clinical Research Professional Certification (ACRP) preferred.


  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-starter
  • Familiarity with health records data base systems is preferred.


Oregon West Network – Sacred Heart Medical Center:

  • Cardiovascular experience strongly preferred.


  • Work requires normal amounts of physical effort up to 66% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.      
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.        
  • Duties require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail (more than 65% of work time).         
  • Operates motor vehicle on urban roadways less than 25% of each day.
