We are currently seeking Construction Management and Civil Engineering Students for our Orlando District to work as Field Engineer Interns at one of the most exciting projects currently underway specifically in East Rutherford, NJ. Click here to see what we're building!

The successful candidates will be exposed to many practical construction functions during their work term. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Project Superintendent or Project Manager. We are looking for students available from January 21, 2019 to May 17, 2019.

The role will be involved in a combination of the following duties dependent on the individual assignment:


* Coordinate drawings
* Coordinate work specific scope / trades
* Conduct trade quote reviews - verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates
* Participate in project meetings
* Conduct deficiency walks
* Input / Update deficiency logsIssue warranties
* Take / Coordinate progress photos
* Update field drawingsProduce as-built drawings

Field Engineering

* Perform quantity takeoffs
* Coordinate sub-trade work
* Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings
* Supervise sub-trade work
* Set-up / Maintain record keeping
* Layout site lines and grades using total station
* Scheduling:
* Update project schedules
* Create manual schedules
* Create and update schedules
* Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades
* Create and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
* Monitor Manpower productivity


* Must be pursuing a degree in a construction related discipline (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, etc...)
* Must be willing to work and live in the East Rutherford area
* Must have reliable transportation

Skills required:

* Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
* Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
