Job Description

Finance Intern

Department: Finance

Status: Non-Exempt/Temporary (Summer 2019)

Salary: $12.00/hour (undergrads and recent grads) or $15.00/hour (graduate students)

Time Commitment: 30 to 40 hours/week, 10 to 12 weeks

Internship Objective:

The Finance Intern will be exposed to finance operations, including planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and monthly close activities. They will undertake a project to document/improve a financial process.

Essential Duties:

* Participate in monthly finance review meetings.
* Meet with stakeholders to discuss and document a financial process.
* Analyze a financial process and recommend improvements.
* Present results to finance management.

Preferred Education/Major/GPA:

* Major in Finance or a related field preferred, but not required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities:

* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and a strong team player.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Prior experience with Finance preferred but not required.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities:

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

Skills the Intern Will Develop:

* Understanding of general finance operations and budget planning process
* Project management skills
* Cross functional skills
* Communication skills
