Job Description

Under the direction of the Comprehensive Stroke Center Data Manager, the Clinical Data Abstractor Intern will support the CSC by performing data abstraction from electronic medical records and data entry into a clinical database. Excellent opportunity for those interested in neuroscience, healthcare or data analysis for quality improvement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.

* Performs accurate and timely clinical stroke data abstraction


* Enters data into the Outcomes Science Stroke Database.


* Administrative duties as assigned such as setting up meetings and compiling stroke meeting minutes.



QUALIFICATIONS:

(MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

* Current student or recent graduate in Nursing, Neuroscience or Biology preferred.



SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

(MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

* Interest or experience in clinical process improvement or healthcare preferred


* Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: List the number of FTEs supervised.
