Job Description

CIMIT is a 20-year-old non-profit consortium of Boston's leading teaching hospitals and universities with national and international affiliates. CIMIT fosters interdisciplinary collaboration among world-class experts in translational research, medicine, science and engineering, in concert with industry, foundations and government, to stimulate and support innovations than improve patient care.

CIMIT has codified its experience in the Guidance and Impact Tracking platform: GAITS. It is an online platform that enables teams and portfolio managers to put the experiences of others in navigating the journey of healthcare innovation into action. It guides teams through their journey to help improve the chances that promising innovations actually reach patients and improve care while tracking progress and impact along the way. It helps teams plan its work to avoid preventable mistakes that can derail even the most promising of ideas. It gives portfolio managers, such as tech transfer offices and funders, a valuable tool to help evaluate, select, manage, and monitor a portfolio of diverse projects. It has the potential to make a significant impact by improving translational research: it creates a robust database to study and benchmark approaches used by different groups to establish and share best practices.

GAITS is in the process of being piloted and CIMIT is seeking a summer intern to assist.

Key Responsibilities:

* Learn to use the platform as a user and administrator
* Help teams learn how to use GAITS
* Verify data added by teams
* Collect and synthesize feedback from users
* Suggest improvements to the platform
* Research, prioritize, and upload additional content to the platform
* Other special projects as they arise
* Pursuing a bachelor's degree in biomedical related field or analytical discipline (like economics, business, etc.)
* Experience in data collection and entry
