Job Description

Are you a recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering with an interest in oil and gas? Do you enjoy 3D modeling and designing complex systems? Parsons is providing program and technical support for capital improvement projects for various oil and gas clients in the Houston area and want to add a Mechanical engineer to the team to support mechanical engineering tasks for all project life-cycle phases - from planning through construction.

Under the direction of a Sr. Engineer, you will perform the following functions for various engineering projects:

Prepare Piping Plans

Prepare Piping specifications

3D modeling of mechanical systems

Develop Utility systems plans and specifications

Perform HVAC design

Review and prepare Equipment data sheets

Perform Hydraulic calculations

You may be asked to review mechanical engineering documents, codes, project cost estimates, as well as statements of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
* Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
* Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
* Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.
* Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
* Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

* 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field)
* 0-3 years of related work experience.
* In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
* Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
* Experience with AutoCAD is required
* Prior design internship in mechanical engineering in industrial setting is preferred with experience performing design and drafting of 3D models.
* Experience/knowledge of design/build project is preferred
