Job Description

We are looking for a recent graduate with some experience in Rail or Road/Highway design, that is highly motivated to learn and grown their career, in the rail/transit sector. If you are the right one for us, you have some design experience with alignments, grading, drainage. take pride in your work, and are passionate about getting into the rail/transit sector!

We are looking for an engineer to help support several major design/build/construction projects that we have in the Irvine area. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer, early in their career, to be mentored by a team of rail/transit experts and be a part of large, complex projects!

Our Rail/Transit design engineer will utilize their civil engineering skills to design rail and track alignments, drainage plans, and assist higher level engineers with submittals, design drawings and utility coordination.

Other responsibilities may include:

Perform vertical clearance calculations, grading and permit/plan preparation, as well as use existing horizontal alignments to design new rail track alignments. May perform material quantity takeoffs, estimates and surveys.

Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.

Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

This is a full time position with benefits, career development, mentoring and bonus for the first PE license.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Civil Engineer or related field) and 6 months to 3 years of related work experience either in road/highway design or rail/transit design.

Will consider candidates with multiple internship rotations in road/highway or rail design.

Must have experience using Microstation and prefer experience with Inroads.

EIT is required.
