Essential Functions

The Engineering Intern will be assisting the Product Engineering Department with Design, Engineering, CAD, and testing while growing the students knowledge base.

Interfaces with Product Engineering, Techanical Services, Operations and the Engineering Testing Lab to design, develop, and test Power Take-Offs

The Intern will:

Assist and perform engineering calculations for strength and life for bearings, castings, fasteners, and other hardware components.

Write engineering work orders in order to document changes and new designs.

Design layouts, components and assemblies utilizing 3D modeling (SDRC Ideas)

Perform tolerance studies and stack-ups as well as apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to engineering drawings.

Assist and perform developmental tests in the mechanical testing lab to prove out new designs as well as changes to existing designs.

Explore design factors such as ease of manufacture, interchangeability, replaceability, efficiency, and cost optimization.

Assist the Warranty Department in failure analysis and report generation.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of school in the Fall of 2018

Majoring in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Current grade point average of 3.0 or higher

Mechanical aptitude,

Willingness to learn and assist all Engineering departments and disciplines

Ability to perform in a team environment.
