Pre-Sales Engineer for SAP Solutions - Max $110k - Chicago, Illinois

Location is Chicago, Illinois, USA

Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 base salary plus benefits


This is a leading global enterprise software solution company. They are now looking for someone with SAP SD experience to design and configure customized software demo scenarios for potential and existing customers of their suite of SAP products. The position is based in their Chicago office.


The experience required for this role is as follows:

  • A minimum of 2 years of SAP configuration experience

  • Knowledge of the SAP SD software module

  • Configuration experience in EITHER SAP SD Pricing OR SAP SD Output

  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)

  • Knowledge of business processes in at least one of the following industry sectors: Life sciences, wholesale distribution, consumer products, high-tech manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, automotive, chemical, oil and gas.

  • Programming or Configuration experience requiring complex logic statements or specification of software customizations (eg RICEF - Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms.)

Please not the above are essential: You require all of the above attributes in order to be eligible for this role.


Your main purpose here is to build software demonstrations to then be presented to prospects by the sales team. Therefore, this is not a client-facing role, but there is constant interaction with Sales, Services, Development and Product Management. You would be designing and configuring customized software demonstration scenarios for potential and existing customers of their suite of SAP-related products.

There is an immediate opening for a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant if, in addition to the above, you possess leadership skills and staff management experience. Other career paths from here are to move into product management and determine and define how the software is developed in the future. Others have moved from here into consulting.
