We are looking to hire a Pricing Coordinator to assist the Pricing Manager in the development of pricing with specific focus on pricing for internal and external quotation requests. Assists operations staff with rate analyses and negotiations with a view to increasing operating margins. Recommending required mark-ups to maintain established profit margin.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of the commercial responses to ad hoc bids
• Assist the Sales team and other operational managers in all aspects of ad hoc pricing submission to customers.
• Assist with front end sales efforts through budgetary pricing
• Participate in bid clarification and other sales related customer meetings.
• Support all other aspects of pricing, budgetary pricing requests from clients and sales and operational managers, and other pricing requests that may arise, including all modes of transport (port to port, Door to Door, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with Corporate and Divisional quotation/pricing processes
• Develop and maintain knowledge with regard to current transportation rates for all modes of transport.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external service providers.
• Respond to direct requests for "one off" or "commercial only" quotations.
• Ocean: Pricing Coordinator is limited in negotiating buy rates with the carriers. Will handle anything outbound below 200 teu's/year. Anything greater must go to the Trade for quoting. Will advise trade if the GPM pricing is not in line with the market.
• Assist with completing "bid tabs" or procuring rates for out of scope items requiring competitive bidding.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with customers to assist the Sales team acquire new business.
• Interface with other function groups such as IT, legal, security, procurement, management, and sales staff, as well as customers, to create and deliver customer-driven services and solutions.
• Support Pricing Manager by ensuring requests are answered in timely fashion
• Consistent GP increase.
• Consistently be the quickest in the market, acknowledging and responding to pricing requests with meaningful, complete, professional and competitive proposals and proactive solutions.

• Provide advice on service providers, base rates and recommended mark ups.
• Provide guidance and direction to operational staff as requested.
• Provide guidance and direction to Sales staff.

Educational background / Work experience
-Working experience within the freight forwarding/logistics industry (minimum 5 years)

-Relevant working experience (minimum 3 years)

-Degree in Logistics, Business, or Economics is a plus

Language skills
• Must speak, read and write English fluently; additional languages are a plus.

Computer Literacy
• Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
• Must have basic to intermediate skills in other Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc)
• Must be able to quickly gain functional understanding of other Panalpina applications as they relate to finance and reporting.
