We are looking to hire a Regional Ocean Freight RFQ Manager FCL and LCL Americas to the primary purpose of this role is to act as a commercial interface between FCL Trade Lane Managers, Regional and Country Ocean Freight FCL and LCL Product Responsibles as well as Tender Management for global and regional FCL and LCL RFQs in Americas. The job holder needs to provide competitive and customer-oriented Door-to-Door FCL and LCL ocean freight proposals to increase the number of business wins. This includes a fully risk assessed reply towards Tender Management in alignment with the responsible FCL Trade Lane Managers as well as Regional and Country Ocean Freight LCL Product Responsibles. Furthermore, the job holder is requested to provide market information and product guidance to bid owners and Tender Management for RFQ proposals whenever requested.


RFQ Coordination

* Act as an Americas window towards Global RFQ Coordination
* Closely cooperate with other regional RFQ functions for multi-regional RFQs
* Develop and maintain RFQ planning process in alignment with FCL Trade Lane Managers and Regional Head of Ocean Freight LCL Americas
* Ensure compliance with Tender Management and Trade Lane Management processes
* Coordinate and manage incoming RFQs within the given deadline
* Analyze RFQs very detailed and provide input to Trade Lane Managers, Regional Head of Ocean Freight LCL Americas and Country Ocean Product Heads for strategy definition and prioritization
* Request PTP rates from FCL Trade Lane Managers and the FCL Procurement Team as well closely cooperate with other regional CORC LCL functions on multi-regional RFQs and make use of the Global Ocean Freight RFQ Support LCL as well as the BSC Wuhan to complete the quotation and review/validate information received
* Create a dedicated risk-benefit analysis for each RFQ
* Provide a high quality response to the responsible bid owner and/or Lead TM team for validation and submission to the client
* Provide market intelligence about ocean freight products and support advanced commercial analysis such as BAF adjustment mechanisms or index linked solutions
* Ensure post bid analysis to be performed by the bid owner for all bids, both successful and unsuccessful, carried out by Lead TM team

Management of FCL and LCL Tariffs

* In general, support the creation and maintain pricing databases of FCL and LCL Charges (except FCL Main Freight Rates)
* Continual review of the Global Demurrage and Detention Tariff as well as FCL Local Charges Tariff
* Regularly update the Global LCL Tender Tariff
* Support the creation of a Global LCL Pick-Up and Delivery Database
* Develop short- and mid-term strategy for further improvements of the FCL Local Charges


* Business Administration / Commercial background
* Relevant working experience (minimum 5 years)
* Working experience in the freight forwarding / logistics industry (minimum 3 years)
* Experience in working on RFQs/tenders
* Functional experience in FCL and LCL ocean freight
* LCL network mind-set
* Profound expertise in scoping, solution design and pricing
* Pricing/Procurement experience with co-loaders and customers
* Understanding of PA strategy and products
* Knowledge in freight forwarding and logistics
* Knowledge about Ocean Freight markets, competitors as well as FCL and LCL pricing structures
* Knowledge about trends and challenges for the industry
* Understanding of business principles and language, incl. the fundamentals of finance and profitability
* Business administration competence
