We are looking to hire a Warehouse Customer Service Agent to serve as a point of contact for the customer and warehouse floor processing staff, ensuring operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction. Process shipments in a safe and accurate manner, ensuring operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Successor to the manager, train to cover and replace

Acknowledge receipt/delivery of freight by signing the relevant documents and noting irregularities, as applicable

Load/Unload consignments and compare against freight documents to avoid irregularities

Issue warehouse receipts and handle cargo as per standard operation procedures (SOP)

Assign cargo locations based on its nature in designated warehouse locations and update the applicable warehouse management system(s)

Assure accuracy in execution of duties as it relates to cargo labeling, system updating, and customer correspondence

Answer all customer inquiries in accordance with the Customer Service Policy standards

Further increase customer (internal and external) satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contact

Operate all equipment safely and ensuring the safety of all personnel and freight at all times

Report hazardous cargo and any irregularities (damage, pilferage, miscounts) immediately to supervisor

File, store and keep record of whereabouts of operational files

Keep warehouse neat, clean, and organized as per 5S standards

Support the lean and continuous improvement culture

Advise supervisor immediately of any equipment failure

Advise supervisor of need to re-order supplies in due time

Assure that complete documentation accompanies cargo leaving dock as per SOP

Ability to process small parcel shipments via shipping systems (FedEx, UPS, etc.)

Exception handling by consulting with supervisor and/or operational department

Order processing into inventory management system, maintain accurate inventory

Schedule trucking for inbound and outbound carriers

Manage multiple excel sheets

Accounting - Invoice customers and approve vendor invoices

Gather monthly warehouse data for reporting to head office

Conduct daily meetings with team

Conduct tool box talks

Member of the Quality, Health, Safety, Environment team

Inventory, manage and train on warehouse equipment and other tasks

Create IHT's (incident handling tool)

Create warehouse and customer SOP's

Manage risk assessment of warehouse task

Qualifications:

At least 2-4 years experience in warehouse setting

Proficient in MS Office applications

Skills:

Good judgment skills and ability to make decisions

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers

Excellent knowledge of freight forwarding and warehouse regulatory requirements

Proven track record of industry experience (specifically warehousing, logistics, distribution)

Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of Panalpina strategy, structure and pricing (preferred)

Proficient computer experience (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Team player

Excellent communication and people skills
