Job Description

General Purpose

Conducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, development of alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, financial analysis, budget analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and review the reorder points and maximum stock levels, ensuring maximum use of cash flow.
  • Analyze, project, and determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for current needs and determine inventory levels based on historical trends and forecasted weather patterns.
  • Develop analysis of order trends to determine JIT orders.
  • Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other moderately complex problems.
  • Create and maintain a source list for materials on contract.
  • Develop inventory analysis and performance reports.
  • Generate requisitions to cover spot buy material requirements.
  • Validate and verify unusual material requirements in the material planning system.
  • Maintain the correct lead time information in the material master for all materials in the warehouse with information provided by Procurement.
  • Participate in the determination of energy levels and maintain those levels in the system.
  • Participate in the Material Transition Review (MTR) process and maintain the reorder system to support the transition of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply and Logistics or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years work related experience.
  • Experience with consumption based planning or distribution type inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain methodologies, models, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze inventory data and identify issues, risks, and trends.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and analytical skills to inventory materials to identify trends, history and future activities and identify potential solutions and options.
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations on a variety of inventory related subjects.
  • Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.

Preferences

  • APICS or equivalent material planning certification. 
  • Commitment to pursuing advanced education or training as needed.

Hiring Range: 46,400- 59,000
