**Job Description**

- PNNL provides state of the art cyber situational awareness to our nation’s critical infrastructures. We have a robust R&D program that infuses our current contract support with next generation network sensors and innovative approaches to malware detection.

- The PNNL Cyber Situational Awareness team is looking for a talented Database Administrator (DBA) to help us manage large volumes of complex data.

- The ideal candidate will have expertise in massively parallel processing (MPP) databases with specific knowledge of Greenplum.

- You will be expected to challenge the status quo and to continue to stay current on industry best practices.

- Possess unique knowledge of the cyber security space, applying security principles and understand the application of risk mitigation strategies.

**Minimum Qualifications**

2 – 4 years of experience with BS Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field; 0-2 years of experience with 0 – 2 Years with MS Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field.

Experience or education directly related to DBA operations

Experience or education directly related to data security, back-up and recovery

Familiarity with SQL which includes SQL, Python 3

Good knowledge of data integration and data warehousing

Experience in data governance and security policy implementation

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Design, code, test and support next-generation database solutions

- Leverage assortment of technologies including SQL, Java, Windows and Linux

- Apply knowledge of System Engineering Processes and life cycles as it applies to cyber security for the MPP database domain.

- Participate in professional activities and/or external collaborations. Build a robust intern and external technical network.

- Actively mentor junior staff. Serve as a task lead in area of specialty and help contribute to business development efforts.

2 or more years of experience with PostgreSQL and/or Greenplum

Large scale database export/import for backups, ETL

Proven experience as with DBA operations

Experience with performance tuning

Experience implementing big data technologies (Greenplum, Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
