Job Description


Primary clinical and assessment supervision of psychology interns as part of an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited psychology internship program. Actively participates on the Psychology Training Committee, which establishes the guidelines and expectations for the psychology internship program. Provides clinical supervision to pre-licensed PhD and PsyD employees and psychology interns at various sites. Provides training to psychology interns on the administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessment measures.


* Provides psychological testing supervision (group and individual) to psychology interns and pre-licensed doctoral level clinicians at Pacific Clinics.
* In collaboration with the site direction, provides weekly individual and group supervision to psychology interns and pre-licensed Ph.D/PsyD employees addressing clinical issues, monitoring progress notes, and billable services according to contractual and agency requirements.
* Maintains up to date tracking of incoming psychology assessment referrals and status of intern progress in completing assigned assessment referrals. Communicates status of referrals and completion of psychological assessments on a regular basis to the Director of Psychology.
* Ensures psychological testing is completed by interns in a timely and thorough manner.
* Conducts ongoing performance reviews and the requisite training documentation for interns from their respective graduate programs.
* Assists Director of Psychology in co-leading and facilitating periodic supervision forums on core clinical issues in treatment including diversity training, testing instrument updates and case conceptualization.
* Provides supervision of pre-licensure Ph.D/PsyD employees requiring license hours.
* Provides consultation and hands-on interventions for clinicians with difficult cases.
* Maintains competence in standards of practice regarding psychological testing within community mental health settings.
* Attends trainings identified by the Director of Psychology or the Corporate Director of Intern Training related to clinical supervision, psychological assessment, cultural diversity, or any other related topic.
* Assists with clinical and other projects and assignments as deemed appropriate and necessary by the Director of Psychology and/or Executive Management.
* Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.
* Interacts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.
* Communicates effectively in a culturally competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.
* Ensures the timely submission of all performance appraisals, new hire and termination paperwork and other employee status changes within the division including informing HR of employee leaves of absence, work-related injuries and employee incidents.
* Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
* Models Pacific clinics' approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Doctorate from an accredited college or university in psychology, educational psychology, education with the field of specialization in counseling psychology, or in a discipline deemed equivalent by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.
* A license to practice as a psychologist issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.
* Experience supervising and instructing interns, residents or unlicensed clinical psychologists in the field of psychology.
* Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in community mental health providing full range of mental health services, including psychological testing to children and adults.
* Ability to train staff in psychological testing.
* Ability to develop, manage and implement license specific training materials.
* Ability to develop relationships within the agency and other community agencies.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
* Knowledge of, and ability to work competently with, ethnic diversity is essential.
* Proficient computer skills and demonstrated ability to work in Windows environment (including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Must promote efficient and effective communication with Clinics' management, staff and third parties.
* Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.


While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit. The employee is required to use hands to produce records and/or documentation in manual or electronic format. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Community outreach is also required.
