Pace Industries is seeking local High School and College students for a "Part Time Student Intern" program.This position allows high school and college students to gain real world experience in the manufacturing field while collaborating with their studies. As the job progresses the individual will be allowed more freedom and responsibility, which could lead to a full-time position upon completion of the internship.

The student will be participating in real work processes or special projects in the following areas:

* Manufacturing Operations (Students interested in technical careers)


* Engineering (Students interested in engineering, and or pursuing technical programming careers)


* Quality (Students interested in quality and statistical control)



The ideal candidates are students interested in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Machining Engineering, CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Programing or CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Hands on work in Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling, Process, Robotics, and Engineering


* Job-shadow various employees in our Advanced Manufacturing Group


* Creating and editing current tool drawings for our manufacturing equipment


* Use 3D modeling to create 2D drawings using the software Solidworks


* Work alongside our current tool designers to learn the trade of tool and fixture design for an automated manufacturing environment


* Ask questions and offer input when supervisors deal with more complex problems


* Learn and understand any regulations related to departmental tasks


* Help department stay abreast of latest developments in the field and in any changes related to educational practices


* Assist and work within any other assigned duties



Based on the student's aptitude, they will be able to work and learn in the following specific fields of manufacturing:

* Automation: Robotics, PLC


* Maintenance: Welding / Fabrication


* Toolroom / CNC: Machining / Tool repair/maintenance


* Quality; CMM /Gaging / Measurement

Position Requirements:


* Be at least 16 years of age


* Must live within 50 miles of Harrison, AR


* Provide proof they are currently enrolled in local High School, or North Arkansas College classes


* Good communication skill


* Beginner or intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred)


* Be willing to work 3 to 4 hours per day or more (hours are flexible)


* Willing to be flexible in their work duties, and take on new and exciting challenges in die cast operations


* If a high school student, you must be willing to stay in school through graduation


* No experience required


* Steel Toed Shoes - Student must be willing to purchase steel toed shoes, which are required for their work
