Division Information


Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in Algona, WA. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium and heavy-duty truck parts sold under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company's truck manufacturing divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft has two manufacturing facilities in Algona, WA, Louisville, KY, and Plano, TX.



Job Functions/Responsibilities


  • This position will focus primarily on the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and include mechanical inspections of parts and documentation of manufacturing and testing procedures including first article inspection, EV (Engineering Validation) or QV (Quality Validation) builds
  • Conduct dimensional inspection of PPAP sample components using portable CMM (Faro arm) or other measuring devices
  • Evaluation of testing results and supporting documentation of PPAP samples to determine conformance to PACCAR PPAP requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of PPAP files and documentation in support of PACCAR PPAP guidelines
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and internal personnel for understanding of PPAP requirements
  • Request BOM (Bill of Material), SRDC (Drawing Changes), and part number modifications
  • Provide analytical support to Dynacraft process owners regarding product / process quality issues
  • Identify and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing customer/internal feedback to help identify opportunities to resolve quality/production issues
  • Ensure all Dynacraft and PACCAR Inc. standards are maintained
  • Participate in developing and executing Quality department goals and objectives
  • Lead Statistical Process Control Implementation on new and existing product
  • Conduct capability studies and publish statistical reports
  • Provide fixture validation quality audits as required
  • Provide PPAP training to plant personnel
  • Support new production implementation by developing Safe Launch Plans
  • Provide Drawing review support on new products
  • Assist development, review and implementation of Process Control Plans to support plant initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned   



Qualifications and Skills


  • Excellent communication skills along with proactive thought
  • Understanding of APQP and other Quality Management tools (FMEA, CP, PF, SWI)
  • Experience with GD&T and measuring equipment including portable CMM, and the ability to use a wide variety of inspection equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including National/International standards and translate into part and process requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of automotive OEM or Tier One experience
  • Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Minitab or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.



Education/Training Required


  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 QMS's in a related capacity
  • Four year degree in Engineering or Technical Field



Education/Training Desired


  • Project management experience
  • SAP experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma training/experience
  • Stationary CMM training/experience and/or PC DMIS software experience a plus
