Job Description

DUTIES:                                

  • Lead Interior related projects for manufacturing support of new product development projects.
  • Find and develop new technologies for plant processes
  • Find applications of new technologies for part production
  • Develop tooling and equipment budgets including:
  • Prototype tooling
  • Supplier base component, assembly and inspection tooling
  • Plant assembly tooling and equipment.
  • Manages the development and implementation of Simultaneous Manufacturing Engineering plans for assigned new product development projects including:
  • Developing manufacturing assumptions, objectives, strategies and tactics necessary to meet business objectives and new product development goals.
  • Complete DFSS, Black Belt and Quality projects at the Manufacturing Plants or Suppliers.
  • Help develop total MLO costing structure for monthly reporting to Senior Management
  • Preliminary and final plant implementation plans.
  • Reduce MLO for current product and during New Product Development
  • Labor Tracking on Major programs
  • Supervises the acquisition and implementation of project related capital tooling assets.
  • Acquisition of and implementation of capital tooling assets including tooling reviews
  • Supervises Manufacturing and Quality Engineering projects.
  • Participates in project related Supplier Readiness Reviews.
  • Participate in Supplier Readiness Reviews as required
  • Facilitates implementation of the Manufacturing Engineering Plan at PACCAR plants.
  • Implement the Manufacturing Plan at PACCAR Plants

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Engineering or related major required.
  • Demonstrated ability gained through 1-5 years of progressively complex engineering and plant engineering assignments preferred; preferably possessing 1-3 years with PACCAR.
  • Training in DFFS and Advanced Quality Systems desirable.     
  • Knowledge of assembly of Cab and Interiors
  • 3D CAD (PTC Creo preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of product tooling, manufacturing and assembly processes. 
  • Excellent organizational, PC and project management skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% annually, occasionally on short notice.
  • Communicate with various levels of organizations effectively
