Requisition Summary

The Facilities Director is responsible for daily building operations at the corporate office with over five hundred employees located in downtown Bellevue, along with building operations at local PACCAR properties occupied by corporate divisions or leased to third parties. The Director will also directly manage implementation of key major new facility construction projects. The role will have both facility operations and project management responsibilities.

The Facilities Director will be part of the Property and Environment group leadership team along with the Executive Director of Property and Environment, the Director of Property of Environment, and the Director of Construction and Corporate Services.

The successful candidate will lead the existing Facilities support team to deliver increasing customer service to all occupants at the corporate building. The Director will interact frequently with senior management. Projects that could be assigned include field offices, manufacturing expansions, and distribution facilities world-wide. Smooth project delivery is the goal while meeting cost, quality, and schedule objectives. High transparency, clear communications, and flexibility are attributes that will contribute to exceeding leadership expectations.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Corporate Headquarters – Facility Management

  • Operate the building and support evolving building occupants’ space and furniture needs
  • Keep a running multi-year plan for needed upgrades on the 1968 vintage corporate building
  • Ensure smooth-running operations andf expand the capabilities of the Facilities team
  • Plan and manage annual operating budgets
  • Expand service quality with professional processes and key performance measurements
  • Work directly with senior management on high visibility projects


Local Bellevue Properties – Property Management

  • Coordinate with the Property team for tenant needs
  • Maintain the physical structures and plan for needed projects


Major Facilities Project Management

  • Set up project execution strategies and obtain division stakeholder objectives consensus
  • Work with stakeholders to define scopes, establish design concepts, and set cost expectations
  • Secure internal project approvals
  • Procure design and construction services, and enlist support of corporate departments (Law Department, Purchasing, Risk Management, etc.)
  • Track and anticipate project change and make forecast adjustments
  • Monitor project performance, resolve issues, and report regularly
  • Ensure quality design and construction and adherence to standard PACCAR methods
  • Advise field-based division project managers on latest technologies and methods

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ten years’ experience directly managing a large corporate office requiring executive interaction
  • Management of all variety of corporate facilities operations including:
    • Regular maintenance
    • Mechanical and electrical systems
    • Construction projects
    • Custodial services
    • Security
    • Food services
    • Mail room operations
    • Space planning
    • Furniture procurement and inventory maintenance


  • Demonstrated experience managing large industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • Experience and ongoing involvement with IFMA or related professional societies.
  • Knowledge of building codes and project management methods.
  • Experience with sustainable design and construction
  • Experience handling facility operations and project work simultaneously
  • Highest quality written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort with a high-transparency operating style
  • Ability to absorb requests for change with a flexible friendly style


Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field. MBA preferred.
